My computer's hardrive probably failed. And now I can't use it... It says
"CD-ROM Bot Priority ..No Medium
Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot Device"
So yeah. My brother's trying to help me... if you have any suggestions (I don't mean like, "Try restarting it!". I mean if you have any actual knowledge that will be helpful), please post them. Right now I'm on my sh**ty laptop with none of my latest work on it. It can't even run BSU demo's 1 - 3 on the test stage at a smooth framerate.

So you're computer doesn't even see your HDD at all? I was without doing BSU stuff for the past 2 weeks.  |

Well, I would suggest taking the Hard Drive and trying it on another computer if you have one. If it works, then It's probably the data cable or the motherboard.
If not... then I hate to bring you the bad news.

I seen your problem in the net. The hardrive is dead.
This is what I found ( it was in frensh so I trnaslated it for ya:
=> You left a floppy disk in your drive
=> You boot a bad hard drive
=> The hard drive is damaged
=> The partition table is damaged.
=> You left a USB memory stick into the USB port.
=> IDE controller is damaged.
=> The hard drive is not connected to the IDE controller / SATA
=> The jumpers on the hard drive or other drives are in the wrong place.

Maybe it's a virus. Earlier this morning, my brother said that it could have been a virus that kept writing to the hard drive, and then worn it out...or something to that extent.

If the HDD is truly dead, then Perhaps you could use this chance to get a monster desktop computer.

And I feel stupid for finally realizing why the Hard Drive is called "HDD" instead of "HD". I blurted it out while my brother was inspecting my computer, and I'm sure he thought I was an idiot.

You either got to replace(which is REALLY expensive),Take to get it fix'd,or have it reformatted.
But,do you have Windows Installation disk?

If you mean like (I don't pay much attention to computers and how to fix them, though my brother does... Free Tech service) to install windows 7 and stuff (which I think you mean)... then Yes. |
