Now, before all of you go completely fucking ham at this thread and say that you would love to help with whatever crazy scheme I am envisioning, let me have you know that I want this to have nothing to do with BlitzSonic or really with Blitz3d at all. I mean, if that's the only thing anyone here knows then we can try it, but I'd prefer not to if we can avoid it.
Anyway, what I want to do is make a game. From scratch. I won't tell you what the game is (because only the "team" I put together will know what it is we're making until we have something substantial to show). What I will tell you is that the two ideas I have it narrowed down two are this: One a platformer, one a top-view arcade shooter (think Black Ops Arcade or Zombie Apocalypse without the zombies).
What I'm looking at is trying to do this in something free. IE Unity, Blender, UDK, something of that nature. BUT THE ONES WHO HELP HAVE TO ALREADY HAVE EXPERIENCE CODING IN THE PROGRAM OF CHOICE.
As far as modeling goes, 3DS Max and such will be pretty much the standard, no fragmotion (unless for simpler things that are overcomplicated by max like texturing, but I'd like to not use frag whatsoever).
Anyway, if anyone is interested, let me know. It's preferred that you live somewhere in the US or Canada, MOST preferably East Coast but that doesn't make a huge difference (I've had problems where team members lived in different countries, and when we were awake the foreign member was asleep, or in school while we were working, etc). Also, if you're interested MSN or Skype chat kinda thing is a must.
At the moment there's no guarantee that anything will happen. If enough people are interested we can try, but I'm really trying to make something high quality and I'd like to not have it take 20 years to make then have us just quit on it like most indy games that people try to make.
So what I need most is programmers ("coders"), people who can rig and animate for whatever software we use (or at least port the models and animations to that software). I'm only looking for one or two of each (well, actually more coders the merrier).
So HMU peeps.
