Well, it's fairly simple. If you know how to weight with no weights, just use the slider and stuff. Always make sure that your weights add up to 1. If you don't know what im talking about. refer to the help pages from fragmotion (click "help" and go from there).

ALWAYS turn on "Automatically Adjust Other Weights." I can't think of a single scenario where you could have any unassigned or overassigned vertices. Every vertex weight has to add up to (1.000) or (100%) or it will spazz.

Not if you very carefully adjust each assignment, it will even out to your suiting fairly quickly. I never had problems with that.

Not if you very carefully adjust each assignment, it will even out to your suiting fairly quickly. I never had problems with that. Yes, but if you want certain weights for 2 branch bones, then you'll need to adjust the main bone by it self, and add in the new bone without messing up the already-weighted bone.
