Here's the rating IGN gave for sonic generations and sonic 4 episode 1
Sonic Generations:8.5
Sonic 4:9
Really.
Sonic 4 is more of a remake of sonic 1&2 with a homing atttack to it. Sonic generations is the useage of classic and modern sonic gameplay with old rivals and bosses with HD graphics.

To me, IGN will rate any game and 8.5 if other ratings are 9, 9.5 or 10.

It's not that you shouldn't believe them, it's that you shouldn't take them as the absolute truth. They do put up valid points though.
Except for Gamespot. 7.5 for Skyward Sword because "crap controls" and "Link doesn't talk" is just crap.

So, basically you're saying that IGN shouldn't publicly express their opinion anymore? To be honest, you really shouldn't care what they say; what you think is what matters. They gave Sonic the Hedgehog a really low score, but I really liked the game. Don't get too caught up in the numbers; just stick with what you believe by watching gameplay videos and whatnot. |

The fact they didn't like Generations is because of the stage selection. It doesn't show the series good things. It mostly shows the levels that made the series "bad" and people didn't like that. And the levels were too short they expected more. |

GUYS!!!! Goodness, IGN is FULL of fanboys of mario, they gave super mario sunshine a high score.... and.... not...sonic.....heroes......(curls up on floor and cries)
Thats just how it is dude, plus, IGN, really? why not watch actually good reviews on youtube by actual people.... not people getting paid to say what the developers want....
If you're dissapointed, heres one by a sonic fan...
