Sounds like the normals are not correct. I've encountered this when importing the Egg Hall from DX. If you're using Blender try this: 1 Select the mesh and press Tab to enter Edit Mode 2 Press Ctrl+Tab and select Face, then press A to select all 3 With all of the faces selected, press Ctrl+N to recalculate normals 4 Exit edit mode with Tab, and press Ctrl+A and select Apply Rotation And Scale 5 Finally, when you export, select Export Vertex Normals If that doesn't work, try selecting "Inside" in step 3 after pressing Ctrl+N (press T to access the tool shelf). You might also try ignoring step 5, I don't remember if it has any effect or not when exporting. The reason this happens: The code in Blitz Sonic tells Sonic to accelerate or decelerate based on the angle of polygons. If a polygon is angled a certain way, Sonic will slow down in that direction, usually on a slope or other steep angled object like a ramp. A polygon has something called a normal, which differs from the visual representation of the polygon. That being said, a polygon may look like it's fine visually, but internally it's facing a different direction. Sonic will either not accelerate, or accelerate 'sideways' if the normal is wrong. This can be seen on a few objects in the Blitz Sonic v00 demo level which features a tunnel-like object. The object looks fine but the normals are not, and so Sonic can get stuck on it if you jump on top of it. Let us know if that helped!
