Ever since the release of the Sonic Boom games, any new news is good news. Anyway, Sega announced a free to play mobile game called Sonic Runners developed by SonicTeam, or at least a small number of their workers. It looks decent for a phone game, but that's not saying much considering the quality of phone games these days. Locations seem to be taken straight from Lost World, so those of you that like making custom stages; Lost World related content may not be dead yet.
Also gameplay seems really similar to Pacman Dash. What is with these Sonic phone games?
Sonic Jump: Pretty much Doodle Jump
Sonic Dash: Pretty much Temple Run
Sonic Runners: Pretty much Pacman Dash
Honestly, there's so much they can make with the low cost of phone development. Why just stick to the generics? Anyway, like I said however, this game doesn't look bad by any means. Also, if you didn't notice, Sonic went through another minor design change. Pretty much he looks a bit more like Classic during gameplay although the renders are mostly just old reused stock art. However, the new renders do reflect on the new redesign. I don't know why the just put two different character designs in the same trailer, they must be short on time.
