^Yeah, the last time I was on Youtube was forever, like one year since I took my Amnimator channel down, sorry I didn't keep up with your engines though. I'll be sure to check out this new engine though, I love your stuff!
Also, yeah, partly the reason why I'm more interested in modding Generations is because it's what I can do. When I Google around people never give you a good answer to where you can start coding. Lynda has a C and C++ tutorial and their Maya tutorial series was awesome so I'll look into that at some point. In the mean time I'm just playing around with Generationss getting to know my way around the engine better. I even looked into getting Lost World physics into Generations, got some good progress, but game breaking glitches keep it from being usable. I just hate how it's not an easy import and you can't just edit straight to the level or even move around meshes without reimporting. That and linear level design isn't my cup of tea, but it's still fun.

Blitz Sonic died because we voluntarily killed it. If you want to make your own engines then by all means do so, but the idea of messing around with Blitz 3D in 2014 is questionable to say the least. Especially when Unity and Unreal Development Kit are both free and Blitz 3D is for cash money. I understand a lot of you don't want to use Unity because you're not familiar with it but you can do way more with it. The reason this forum has no real activity is because no one wants to contribute to it, especially if I just wanted to make custom stages, why not Generations? If you don't like the boost gameplay and want to focus on platforming you can easily slow Sonic down and weaken his boost if you like within the mod. That also brings up another point. If I make a mod in Generations I know everyone will be playing it with the same engine. Not with Blitz, no way. There will be people playing it on Blitz Sonic Ultra, BGE, LS5E2, what have you. There is no one supreme Blitz engine, they are all flawed in their own way. Heck, even if there was one Blitz engine, look at how GDK is doing. You guys can still stick with Blitz, and some cool games have been done in it like SCP – Containment Breach. It's just a lot of us don't think it's worth it anymore. Blitz3D is free now, just saying.

I just tried out Unreal Engine 4, and it's actually pretty good.

Something absolutely terrific would be a verbatim port of the original BlitzSonic engine to something newer like Unreal (Sonic GDK) or Unity. I mean, same thing how the engine's whole purpose was to be 110% customizable. Same thing how it started out with just jumping and spindash, and with that iconic 'classic Sonic' model. Open source so people could make new engines (like the many engines by people such as BagJac Media, LinkSonic5/SciDust, SuperSonic68, SonicDBZFan07, OzCrash, etc.; and how they all originated from Damizean's Blitz Engine). Same file setup (as in, a Config.xml and a Characters folder and a Stages folder and all that).... This would be a miracle; the BlitzSonic name could live on in a fresh, modern, new engine that's just like it. It should sprout a new community (or revive the shriveled up and dying one here). I would do this if i could.

Ever since i saw these 2 games, im not good at coding, or level designing, but I think it'd be awesome to make a game that's like sonic GL and sonic XLR8 combined. like, being able to do all sorts of cool stunts in order to travel through a stage swiftly and quickly!
