Anyone else but me here have Windows 8? Honestly I think it's just as bad as the XP to Vista movement. They replaced the start menu with this metro crap. HOW CAN YOU CHANGE THIS:TO THIS:- Not to mention video game compatibility is like none. Many major video game companies like ValvE and Blizzard dropped all support for Windows 8. What are your thoughts on this guys? Sure it runs faster and has better drivers for my new computer, but honestly? It takes like twenty clicks for the newcomer of Windows 8 to get to the control panel. Also, acidently place your mouse on any corner of the screen and, hey lookie, SIDE BAR (There are even more sidebars not shown in the picture)! Hope you like running your apps on a tiny window. Also, get ready for games crashing every two seconds and no way to exit other than holding down the power button. -Don't want to start flame just sharing my opinion.

I'm using Windows 8. Honestly I like it so far. The metro interface kind of grows on you. I love the fact you can take Metro apps and throw them to the side while still using the desktop.

SonicHyuga - Yeah, it's kind of cool when you get used to it. But for new comers it takes a while to figure out where everything's at. Though once you get used to it it's not THAT bad. Loving the metro Chrome now. Sad you can't set all browsers to metro though :/ supermcgrewbros3 - Well.... If Sonic GDK is what you'r asking, that only runs 25% of the time. The rest it crashes or gives an error like "BUILT WITH UDK HAS STOPPED WORKING". I'm no idiot though. I installed and compiled it correctly -__- Sonic Generations runs considerably smoother now. I can get a smooth 60fps on 1600x900 on an i3 now Other games just bug though And some games won't run at all even in compatibility mode because it doesn't recognize the OS, files are set up differently, etc. Got a free racing game with my 2GB 3D Nvidia card. SWEET. - Doesn't run on Windows 8 D:

Okay, so here is my rant on this situation. Microsoft is trying too damn hard with this "Modernization" bullshit. It was fine when they made the 360 Display like this, but not for PC's. The only people who will actually change to 8 are the people who don't use Computers for more than just browsing the internet. To be honest, we don't need Windows 8, it's almost impossible to work with compared to XP or 7.

I got it since we have to keep up with the times :/ As much as Vista sucked, everyone started and basically needed to use it. As much as I hate 8 I'm still gonna use it. Honestly I've been thinking of getting a Mac now... iATKOS is always a solution :3 If you didn't know, iATKOS is a method of installing Mac OSX on Windows PCs.

why don't you just install both 7 and Mac OSX on your pc? My sister has 7 and linux in her computer. That's not a bad idea

Microsoft is trying to turn their PCs into tablets. Gooooood just what we neeed.... This is exactly what I've been thinking. This whole freaking touch interface is going to take away what makes PC's so great for PC users. Sure, the common 40 year old or older who uses PC's for nothing but their emails and maybe YouTube will freaking love this, but people who like PROGRAMS and not APPS, and want to have control over every aspect of their PC by using an interface that perhaps takes years to master but is totally worth it.

Rest assured Windows 7 will continue to be sold until a true OS has been released. Many people are sure to continue to use Windows 7 instead of downgrading to Windows 8 if this is what it looks like. Microsoft will most likely see a drop in sales and learn to not make drastic changes, and keep previous OS on the shelf.

the only reason Windows did this is because Apple is catching up. Im still up for windows 7. Windows 8 looks like any other Ipad or tablet that will eventually have problems, and might even go out of sale. This could seriously mess up windows, and decrease their customers.I couldn't Imagine playing gta sa, Blitzsonic, or even using 3drad with a windows 8.
p.s. I really hate that new start menu. I'll never get windows 8!!!
