This may seem stupid, but I have no idea how to model Sonic. I drew a nice profile drawing of Sonic from the side, front, back, and top, and I've got them set up in my 3D app. But I have no idea where to begin. Organic models and character models are not my strong point!
I've noticed that a lot of models feature the mouth separate from the face, and the eyes too. How would I go about modeling each of these components? I tried spline modeling the mouth, but that failed miserably each attempt. After about the 6th try I gave up and tried poly modeling with better, albeit inaccurate to the drawing, results.
So what is the best method for modeling each part of Sonic? Poly/mesh modeling or spline modeling? And where do you start?

Well I would just start with a cube(mesh) but for me< I would start body first. MO tho
