if sonic was human

Well, or became human. I know it's been done about 100 times by people who can draw. This was requested by someone still, so I did it. I've tried to analyze what the designers of the new sonic tried to develop through their hedgehog, since - in comparization to the classic sonic, they've added a lot more aspects which could be count as a human tendency - spikes are looking more like a haircut, sonic got pupils, a more human mouth and less mickey mouse proportions. I've still had to sacrifice a lot of what makes sonic recognizable, in order to keep it look realistic. After all it's way easier to draw him in anime-style than realistic, because anime allows more extreme.



Thought that sonic would be happy to wear some roller blades when caught in this "slow" body.
I don't know if I did a good job in terms of making him recognizable, you kinda lose this sight from my perspective, after spending a while on drawing it, constantly looking at him. Anyways, maybe Ima add some more characters, I'd like to draw a Knuckles-Human next

Yeh I thought about that too, but I found that too much blues kinda look bad. I've some changes for a more blue version:


And ultra-blue

Last one though is just a blue glow over the same picture.

Eventually adding some different colored accessoirs like the belts could help.

If I may just say, the emphasis on the lip area is a bit much, but that's pretty much the only thing that gets at me.

Lol don't worry, if I may speak out a secret: Being an artist has not much to do with talent but the amount of critique you can accept over the years of your progress (well, and learning, aparently not from school, because there's a big conspiracy or something that teaches the wrong stuff worldwide for some reason).

Anyways, you mean on knuckles or on both?
I've worked over knuckles lips, how's it now? Btw if you're using firefox, you gotta delete yur cache first (history -> delete newest history -> hook cache and press delet), otherwise it wont update the picture >_<
