Hi!
I'm a 2D artist and lately started taking a break after all the stress with my diploma thesis and work. I thought I could use some of my free time to gain some experience and knowledge with modelling 3D stuff and/or texturing and drawing textures sprites. This, and well, playing Sonic Generations. So I found all those impressive hacks, mods and fangames on the net and thought this would be fun to do. So I had the idea I could improve my skills by doing such stuff too. I can't program and I suck at math (= I don't want to learn programming), what I can however is drawing and a bit of modelling, so that was what I did, without any serious plans behind that though.
I ended up with started HD textures for a 2D game, also I started making a HD sonic sprite sheet (which is special for being handdawn completely). You can see the sprite sheet here:
The original file has way bigger sprites, photobucket just have limits on sizes.
Most important poses are done, I've been doing it after the original sonic, but I added more sprites between to make it look a bit smoother. Here's a video of the sprite in action:

The backgrounds and all are merged pretty bad though.
Here some grassy patterns I drew btw:
Then, other stuff I did was starting to model a 2,5D map. I've rendered this from scratch, making all models and textures by myself. I did use planet wisp as creative input though. Imho it still looks pretty shitty and there's a lot more to do - stage physics are done only halfway and then all the eyecandy stuff I still need to add (grasses, lights, textures, elements, backgrounds etc. to make it look a bit more appealing). Here are some screenshots (glow needs to be fixed or even removed, its mainly there now because I didn't fix lights yet):
I want to add that this wasn't ment for playing purposes. I have no idea if it could be possible to play this stage later (like I said, no idea about programming).
If any of the stuff here is of use for you feel free to take you adavtages of it (would be nice to credit me though), also feel free if you want me to draw some HD textures or anything alike. I'll help out gladly as far as time allows.
