This is a subject worth answering and its a common problem in most game engines, not just Blitz Sonic. How do you solve the issue with models flickering in large levels? An issue known as z-fighting.
I can think of a few ways to solve this problem, but I would like to know the most common and easiest way that you guys are using for Blitz Sonic.

Z-Fighting? As in Z-Fighters? Anyway, how I'd usually do it is just center the stage at 0,0 to lower its intensity. Problem is that the spawn point never really is at (0,0) so there maybe some distortion in the start and end points. Also, when modelling and dealing with engines that have this issue try to keep everything connected, preferably just where the distortion is just to save time. Those are my two most common ways.
