Just a general discussion about this nextgen. PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, Steam Box, PC. Please no flame and respect other peoples opinions. Do not say: X is BeTTR Den Y Cuz I SaiDD Soats. I AM RIT U R RONG. Just state your opinions, which one you prefer, why, that kinda schtuff. Now that you're tame, we can do this right? Surely a console wars discussion can't go wrong in a forum filled with 12 year olds..... Right? Okay, now lets have a civilized argument, pitch forks down.
Now, mah opinion:
Really, I don't have a machine preference. This gen looks to be a firefight between which one is cheaper, has better FPS, resolution... In the end of the day PS4, Xbox One, PC.... They look very slightly different. This doesn't redefine how we play games at all. IMO developers lost creativity over the years. I remember back with PS2 exclusives, hardware restrictions made people think outside of the box. I always liked consoles more than PC though. I could sit comfortably in my living room, not worrying about specs or lag. The games are fine tuned for the system at a cheaper price. Exclusives were different and offered a much different experience and pack of games. Kept me buying and playing. Now the difference between console and PC game wise is much smaller now. Very rarely will you see an actual exclusive. They are either PC or console ports. Not to mention to me many feel like the same game. Not to mention companies formed such big names, they can release rehashed crap and it will sell now. I can't say I'm exited. Very few games got my interest. Mirrors Edge 2, a new Starwars Battlefront, and very few others. Forza 5 looks cool but at the same time there's GT7 and Drive Club coming up. However, I remember with my PS2 I had a crap ton of games, each one different than the other. There was Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clanks, Anime games like DBZ Budokai 3, DBZ Tenkaichi 3, Ultimate Ninja 3... Each game was completely different. Not to mention they feel like they each had their own distinct art style and personality. Now all developers want to achieve this mystical photo-realism, where every gen the difference gets less and less. If this gen is all about FPS and resolution I'll be disappointed.
