AMD Phenom II x4 925 ATI Radeon HD 6750 I'll be getting that i5 2500k, it's a pretty good price on NewEgg. Also, does the Graphics card memory matter very much? I have heard if someone were to be getting a graphics card with more GB, they would most likely be working on 3D scenes involving a lot of textures and materials. 1 GB VRAM is necessary. I'd get 2 GB if you can though, as games start using it more and more. I'm running 2 Radeon HD 6850's in crossfire, but as they are both 1 GB (And VRAM does not stack up in crossfire), I get lag spikes if I turn MSAA all the way up in Battlefield 3 (As it uses >1 GB). Anti Aliasing, High quality shadows and textures eat VRAM. Also the i5 2500k is an amazing processor. Great performance per clock, it's already at 3.3 GHz and if you have a nice cooler you'll be get some more performance out of it by overclocking. Remember though, if you're replacing your AMD Phenom II with an i5 2500k, you'll need to get a new motherboard, as they use different chipsets. correction, even an HD 5670 is good for gaming... I could play Battlefield 3 at 30 FPS Medium Settings... so don't say you know what it can and can't do... most games I can play at max settings and I have an HD 5670 2GB I've been messing around with PCs enough to know stuff about hardware. Also HD 5670 + 2GB is pretty much a waste of money as your gpu does not have enough power to process enough MSAA/Shadows etc. to fill up the VRAM, using a lot of antialiasing will lag because of the lack of processing power. Also BF3, 30 FPS Medium settings? What resolution? Call me again if your fancy GPU does Battlefield 3 at 60+ FPS, Ultra settings, 1080p. My GPUs do this, I have to use FXAA instead of MSAA though because of the lack of VRAM. Also other games max settings? What games are you playing? Half Life 2? Also if your father says this is a great card for gaming, he knows shit about computers. I am not saying he doesn't know much about it, but that is wrong. This is a decent midrange card, it's not terrible for gaming but it isn't great. As for prebuilt computers, I think you're better of finding one somewhere else, as Alienware is overpriced as fuck. I don't really know much about pre built PCs as I recommend to avoid them. Also there are sites where you can choose your pc parts, and they build it for you for some $$$. Don't know any American sites which do this though as I live in the Netherlands :P is my computer a good computer? its a dell made in 2009 Either give the specs (Use a program like CPU-Z to read them) or give me the exact name (Dell StuffStuffStuff) to look it up. Can't help you by a year and a brand. that is bad gaming experience on a PC end. better then console... I don't even have all the upgrades I want for now... I still need to get that 6 GBS of RAM, that would improve it derp How much RAM do you have? If your RAM usage is really near the max you could get more, but if you do not have problems with RAM being completely filled up (Windows'll bother you about it if it is), it won't give you any extra FPS. Also decent PC > Consoles. Your PC > Consoles. It's not a bad PC, it's just not the most amazing gaming PC.

I can play the games with good quality, and that's all that fucking matters... and yes I can agree with you that it isn't the best gaming pc out there, but it can do some pretty decent shit. with the exception of BF3 (and maybe some other games idr) , I can play most games at an excellent FPS and good quality, and no that doesn't include Half Life 2 everyone should be able to play Source Games at at least 60-70 FPS. most PC's, such as mine, get's around 120-170 (depending on your specs and if you use VSync or not... I will admit my pc could be better, but it does more then you would think...

That doesn't even make sense with the previously quoted text. That being said, that's probably ruder than what I've said. Take a day off to cool your jets.

lol, I agree with Eddie. We all need to really cool our jets. Everybody is getting too worked up... We all have our know-hows of computer, obviously, or none of us would be here. I've been working with computers for like, 6 years now, so I do know my way around. Steven, your PC is great, actually, compared to the machines most common gamers use. But you have to face the fact that there will always be someone with a better computer. Carrier also knows his way around, I assume he's been in the game longer than I have. Eddie too. Take what they say as advice, not an offense. Don't go on the defensive over your computer, man. So let's all get along and make rainbows.

Well I have a laptop thats an i7 with a 6770 HD and runs my shit perfectly at 1440x900 fullscreen max everything on BF3 and Generations. So I don't really see a problem, just gotta make sure you get the right stuff. Especially if your dealing with a laptop.
But 6990 HD is beast with my i5 Desktop, cost me an arm and a leg though. But I'm pretty much set for 4 years. I don't see shit getting more expansive than this.

You do realise that I'm not insulting you or your pc? All I'm doing is stating that your correction that the HD 5670 is sufficient for gaming is untrue? And that I do know what it can do? It just happens that you have the HD 5670 too. If you had a HD 6990 or w/e and were stating that the HD 5670 is sufficient for gaming, I would've reacted the same.

I know your not talking about me, but eh 5670 is meh, not that great but it can do some decent things, nothing that makes you go "wow".

Yeah, wasn't talking to you. While I was typing you posted your reply. But the HD 5670 is a decent midrange card. It's not bad, not amazing either. It's decent. [quote (depending on your specs and if you use VSync or not... I will admit my pc could be better, but it does more then you would think... What are you exactly trying to say here? Of course your pc could be better, because you don't know my specs.
