Hey im getting a new computer (fuckin finally) my friend recommended me to the alienware X51 and i wanted to know if its a good pc (i have to keep below 1000 since y'know im a student and 700 is pushing it)

Look up some tutorials for building it yourself. It's not as hard as it seems. Alienware is overpriced as fuck, they make nice pcs but they are way too expensive. For 1000 USD (I suppose?), you can build an amazing gaming computer. I can help you with choosing components if you want (Just give me a site to choose from).

Is it hard to do? How do? Can I do as well? Oh wait, my computer is already beefed out. Its easy to do as well. Get an Intel i7 computer 8gbs ram, that would cost you 700$ and just get a ATi Radeon HD 6770 which is 90$ as well or so. And bam you can play todays games at high resolutions without over priced crap.
Its really simple to do, just make sure your power supply can support it, since usually they don't give you a high ones its usually like what? 300 volts. Just buy a 600 volt one for another 80$. Its much easier that way then to actually buy a 1000$ desktop. Only time you should spend 1000$ for a computer is a really nice laptop, even then its a gamble.

Well I know how to build a computer, my comp before this pos was (better) and built by me, then my cousin downloaded a fuckload of viruses then the current was bought by my parents as a quick replacement. Ever since they've blamed me for making it that way, so it pree much has to be pre built for me to get it, trust me I've told them I could make better for as much
