in the properties of the mesh you have to add "rail=1" next to "visible=1" "collision=1"

and remember. Rails need WALLS so you don't fall off them (and don't make your rails too steep. Sonic will fall off because the rail grind speed is constant)

I'm wondering if I should put rails in my sequel. Maybe I'll put it in there just in case. Now I need ideas for Special Moves.
